Stash

Sunday it POURED here!! Great day to stay home and work in The Glitter Lounge , after all I have a million swap pieces to create! Instead...I changed out of my comfy flannel pants and grabbed my favorite girls and we headed to an indoor flea market/antique mall.

It was my first time there, it had such a variety, over 70 vendors! So many choices - almost too many choices - I will have to visit several times in order to get the full scope! To add to the excitement, it is also connected to an auction house! They are having an auction this Friday night and we had a chance to preview the set-up, OH the FUN!! There are over 20 boxes of costume jewelry, I think I counted 8 hat boxes that are FULL and a several sewing kits!

I came home with a small stack of goodies this time...a few postcards (which have to stay a secret for a while) a couple of really neat black and whites and of course.....a nice addition of trim for my Vintage Trim swap for Silver Bella!

There are about 20+ yards of trim in there! Mostly cotton, but there are also a few other pieces in there that are more of the polyester variety...one that looks like it would be a beautiful garter or edging on a vintage slip! Not sharing all of this stash! I am NOT getting too close with my picture because I want some of the details of these pieces to be a surprise! I am giving you a bit of a spoiler, here...you should see the fine detail of this one roll...it is all these teeny-tiny little daisies...so cute!

Hopefully, I will have a few goodies to share with you after the auction on Friday!

Broken

I am BROKEN and can't be fixed!!
Friday night I broke my index finger on my RIGHT hand!! Of course there is nothing that can be done for a broken finger, so I am "buddy taped" up and suffering through the daily grind. I can't believe how uncomfortable it is! You don't realize how much your index finger is part of your daily activities! Even typing this is difficult...I have too many projects to work on to deal with this nonsense! There are crowns to make, purses to create, trims and scraps to collect! UGGGHHH....
FRUSTRATED!
On a brighter note...look at this yummy find! I acquired this in a box lot at an auction I went to in the Spring. I semi-forgot about it during the chaos of the shop and shop closing but rediscovered it while packing up! It is YUMMY!!! Doesn't it look like pulled taffy??? Kinda???
They are sashes...aren't they beautiful! I am thinking that they would make all sorts of beautiful "tails" for ribbons, corsages, BIG flowers, etc.!!

Welcome Distractions & Breaking the Rules..

This past weekend and early part of this week held a very exciting distraction for me! For all of us really....

Breeanna's All Star team made it all the way to States! It was such an amazing experience for these girls...we broke the rules a bit and let her play even though her hand was still in the healing process. Just and "eggshell" of new bone growth over the break as we were told....I left it up to her, and in true spirit of her mother she said "I am fine...I can play!!"..

She did AWESOME when she played, the coach was very reserved with her playtime because of her hand, but she did AWESOME every time she took the field.
Pop Fly's...no competition for her!
Line Drives....no competition for her skill!!!
As you can tell - I am a very PROUD mama!!
She bat for the first time in 5 weeks and had an amazing double and then also had a line drive to first...she was OUT on that one...oh well!
Notice...no brace...it was NOT Allowed!! But I promise she wore it right after she got off the field!! Now if I could just get her to sit up straight!

Our Trip also gave me the chance to have a little fun and decorate some new shoes for Lily...and make FUN hair bows!!!
She wouldn't put the bows in....she would rather have had her hair in her face in the 103 degree temp! Yes, I said 103...they played in the blazing sun! They would have had to call the game when it got to 105....Seriously people! 105!!!
The weekend also held a few other welcome distractions like Treasure Hunting in this UNBELIEVABLE antique store! By far he had the most incredible collection of china and pottery I have ever seen! Crazy.... Hayden and Lily were with me and they loved it! Both found treasures to bring home! However, Lily has expensive taste...I am going to have to work on that a bit. The man who owned had this shop for 49 years....can you believe that????

And this Beautiful Sunset...you can't tell as much in this picture but there were clouds floating so close to us...it was really quite beautiful. Made me have lots of inspirational thoughts....

Petite Inspirations...

!!!!!WARNING!!!!!
BIG GIANT SPOILER if you are my Swap Partner!!!

I am finished with my very first set of swap boxes!!!

Petite Inspiration Swap Boxes, Paris Edition

I had SO much fun putting these together!!!!

They are just jammed full of tiny treasures - At first they wouldn't shut, so I had to make sacrifices!! I had such a difficult time deciding what to take out!

I tried to gear the boxes towards my swap partners while keeping in mind what the "Inspiration" for the boxes were...

My Swap Partners were...
&
Decisions...Decisions...
This is the box I put together for Connie...

And for Pam...

My very Own Petite Inspiration enjoyed watching me and "helping" me work on these beautiful treasure boxes as well. For me that is one of the best parts of creating....watching my kids as they create right along side of me!!

See her back there??? She was peaking through on all the pictures...

Glitter and Pink Packaged food...

....makes it all better!

Not Really, but I am pretending. The grieving process was a little harder for me today. Guess I was a little worried about keeping everyone together yesterday.

It was the "dailies" that got me today...

came down to let him out in the morning and he wasn't there. Even though most days I was peeved to say the least that he always woke me up at 4:30 or 5AM...No one else...just me!

He wasn't there and I cried a bit...

Then I went to feed everyone this morning and there were too many bowls and not enough dogs...

So I cried a bit more and threw away his bowl, instantly.

After thinking about Lily's glitter send off last night I decided that we needed more, and that the world really is a better place with more glitter.

I decided that I would bring out the stash I had been hiding from her because you CAN NOT imagine all the Glitter-tastrophe's we have around here! I had to hide some of it...it was getting a bit crazy!

These were not just Glitter-tastrophe's...they were Sequins and Glitter and more Glitter!

We also call them "Lily-tastrophe's"

Off to the craft store we went and proceeded to purchase 34 bottles of Glitter..

Yes, you read correctly....34 Bottles

They were little...

But there was that Mega bottle that slipped into the basket...

And I cried a bit more at the craft store...

Then Lily said we needed more Glitter...

But I stopped her...

Trader Joe's provided us with a little more "bliss" with their selection of pink packaged foods...

The cutest Kettle Corn in pink bags,

Pink Lemonade

and of course we needed to buy some

Salt water taffy because the bags were so darn cute! All vintage inspired and just plain CUTE!

The grieving has ended but we are on our way.
