Your weekend Report

The weekend went by so fast ....

It was jammed with activities and right now it all seems a blur!

The Big Guy and I went on a date, it was one of those dates where your both sooooo tired that you can barely be excited that your alone.

We went to buy appliances ~ That is HOT...

We ate Homemade Tortillas and Guacamole....are you starting to see a trend with my dates??

We came home with out any new appliances purchased....
We grounded our children for breaking the rules while we were gone....

Saturday...
My Superman/Loverboy hit a HOME RUN!! Brought in three runners and himself! So proud of him!!

The Senator played a good game....it rained and I was a wimp who sat it out at the shop.

Then I went on a mission of my own. Visited one of my favorite Antique stores to start building my stash for Silver Bella which if you have ever been in my craft room you know it was just a ruse to go buy more treasures!!

I SCORED so many treasures that I can hardly contain myself!! I will post some pictures tomorrow...

Then I went and bought a refrigerator....I like to get things done!

Sunday came and went and I have no idea what happened to it!

Picnic's and Quirky Genetics

Baseball season is here and that means picnics! Lot's of Picnics!!

Lunch Picnics

Dinner Picnics

and Lily's Favorite of them all.....

Car Picnics!

Lily can't get enough of a picnic. She plans them all the time. She wanted to have a "Cricut" picnic with her grandmother "Queenie" yesterday. Her ideal day was to have a picnic on the craft room floor (which is not allowed...no food or drink in there...except Red wine) and make Cinderella's on the Cricut. It was all she could talk about from the time we finished up our picnic at the Farm until the next day when she could have it.

I love that girl!

Let's talk about Quirky Genetics...I have this little "trait" with my shoes. No matter where I take them off - what type of shoes they are - how fast or how slow...

They always end up like this....

Well.....it must be genetic because look at this....

Hayden....he is all mine!

Dating Younger Men is so much fun

I went on a date with Superman last night...

It was great...

We enjoyed our favorite dinner at Baja Fresh I really wanted Mexican Cafe but he wouldn't budge...

I might have to change his name from Superman to Loverboy....he is so compassionate, passionate and fierce. A true lover at heart!

He wouldn't be satisfied until we had picked up tokens for each of his siblings and he even picked out new clothes for me! I love that boy...

We stayed away from the Kryptonite.....his Sugar, mine Cinnamon (did I mention my throat closing reaction I have recently developed...oh the fun...)

Then off to the movies. Diary of a Wimpy Kid, cute! It was amazing to just sit with him and hold his hand and not have to do ANYTHING else!

Honestly, the only time that we get that type of one-on-one time is when he is in the hospital.
It was a great night ~ I love the men in my life ~ what a blessing they are to me!

Date with The Senator

I went on a date last night with a very handsome and charming Senator....

We used to call him The Brain, now we call him The Senator....if you ever met him you would understand...

We ate Mexican food, went to the Bookstore and of course Target...what date is complete without those three??

We went to The Lego store where I took note of grown men still building Lego sets....lets just say they weren't the Athletic type.

We bought cool Vans, similar to the ones I had at his age....shocker to the Senator that his Mom had anything cool..
Fun times.....The only bad thing...NO P.D.A. Public display of Affection when your 12 from your mom..not happening. This is hard for the Mom to remember. OOOPS!

I got a few treats too..pretty magazines and a "bargain" priced book of blank sheet music. I have all sorts of ideas for it.

My first Distress....

I mentioned this project yesterday, and today I have the pictures to follow! This was my first "real" distressing project. I scoured and lurked all over some new blogs to find techniques...

It started out like this...this corner cabinet has been a few colors already. The black worked with my distressed black buffet from Ballard when they were in the same room...but now they reside in separate corners of the house. Time for a change!

After it fell over on me a few times we decided that laying it down was the best option....I spray painted it with an economical (cheap) spray paint. I DO NOT recommend the same one I used...it wasn't really that cheap, it just was really a pain! It was supposed to cover in 2 coats...not exactly. I think you give up after two coats because the spray nozzle sucks so bad!

Then I used a white latex oops paint that I had and covered the shelves and all the nooks and crannies that the spray paint left behind.
Then I sanded some corners, wiped off the excess dust and hit the sanded areas with a water based minwax stain. Then wiped it off and sanded off some more areas. I must say that I am pretty impressed with the results. I wanted a farm house look to it and I got it. The pictures are really not the greatest...

Here it is in the dining room. It would normally hold all my milk glass and antique wine goblets but I had helpers and I haven't had an opportunity to stage everything again....did I mention that I finished this Friday afternoon before Easter?? Was in a bit of a hurry...
