Winners, Musicians and a Sinner

I picked my winner for my National Craft Month giveaway!!
Lucky Lady....The Junque Seeker!

I hope she enjoys her little goodies!!

Working at Trader Joe's has been so much fun, and I have met so many talented people...I mean really
talented people!!!
In fact, I have never worked with so many talented people in one place, ever!

One of my favorite people there, Alexander Peters, just released a CD that I LOVE!! I love music, and I really love good music!! I mean, who likes bad music, but you know what I mean!!

My point...check out this CD!
I love it!
A Quarter of a Century

Has such a unique sound!

While, I have never thought of myself as a "Sinner"...my mother has decided that I am going to burn in
H.E....double hockey sticks because of my latest project....

I have been working on my soldering skills, but I also got a little creative with a vintage Rosary that I bought last year ....

I quite like it...
I am sure that there are many "rules" to a Rosary...I just don't know them....to me it just looked like a pretty piece of vintage goodness!

Makeover Monday

A little makeover for Monday!
Remember this horse collection that I picked up on a recent treasure hunt?

Well, here they are all made up and pretty in pink!!!

Here is the painting reframed in a frame that I picked up for .25 cents!! It was silver, I painted it PINK...of course. All of the horses were mine when I was little.

This is the brown plaster horse that had a beer cap as a hanger. Doesn't she look pretty in pink???This is yet another frame from a treasure hunt...it was a very strange golden brown but had the prettiest flower detail, which you can't really see in the picture. But, AGAIN...PINK makes it all much better!

I love Pink...and a can of spraypaint! Total makeover.....

$7.50

Good Ol' Mother Nature is giving our area quite the Makeover!! Check out this picture of the water at the end of our street! It is crazy around here....

9" total in 24 hours!

And, guess what??? It is POURING out again! Planning on raining for the next three days! Fine by me...plenty of time to be in The Glitter Lounge!

Petite Inspirations...

!!!!!WARNING!!!!!
BIG GIANT SPOILER if you are my Swap Partner!!!

I am finished with my very first set of swap boxes!!!

Petite Inspiration Swap Boxes, Paris Edition

I had SO much fun putting these together!!!!

They are just jammed full of tiny treasures - At first they wouldn't shut, so I had to make sacrifices!! I had such a difficult time deciding what to take out!

I tried to gear the boxes towards my swap partners while keeping in mind what the "Inspiration" for the boxes were...

My Swap Partners were...
&
Decisions...Decisions...
This is the box I put together for Connie...

And for Pam...

My very Own Petite Inspiration enjoyed watching me and "helping" me work on these beautiful treasure boxes as well. For me that is one of the best parts of creating....watching my kids as they create right along side of me!!

See her back there??? She was peaking through on all the pictures...

My first Distress....

I mentioned this project yesterday, and today I have the pictures to follow! This was my first "real" distressing project. I scoured and lurked all over some new blogs to find techniques...

It started out like this...this corner cabinet has been a few colors already. The black worked with my distressed black buffet from Ballard when they were in the same room...but now they reside in separate corners of the house. Time for a change!

After it fell over on me a few times we decided that laying it down was the best option....I spray painted it with an economical (cheap) spray paint. I DO NOT recommend the same one I used...it wasn't really that cheap, it just was really a pain! It was supposed to cover in 2 coats...not exactly. I think you give up after two coats because the spray nozzle sucks so bad!

Then I used a white latex oops paint that I had and covered the shelves and all the nooks and crannies that the spray paint left behind.
Then I sanded some corners, wiped off the excess dust and hit the sanded areas with a water based minwax stain. Then wiped it off and sanded off some more areas. I must say that I am pretty impressed with the results. I wanted a farm house look to it and I got it. The pictures are really not the greatest...

Here it is in the dining room. It would normally hold all my milk glass and antique wine goblets but I had helpers and I haven't had an opportunity to stage everything again....did I mention that I finished this Friday afternoon before Easter?? Was in a bit of a hurry...

Spring has officially started in these parts...

Strawberry plants starting to peek through the left over winter debris...(Martha would be SO disappointed in how I left my plants and pots to "winter" over..)
My favorite Russian Sage showing through... Golf Clubs made their way out of the garage...

There is a little girl who has missed her clubs...lol..

The bejeweled sandals...
My yard is starting to be green again...my house and yard are like a Castle surrounded by a mote....there is yucky water all the way around it. If I keep thinking of it like a castle maybe it will make the mosquito ponds seem more romantic???

Old Dog soaking up the sun...
Young dog soaking up the sun (minus my shadow)
Mommy and Lily enjoying some porch time...

The Renovations have begun.....Hayden has decided he wants to paint and "customize" his old bike...

Mom's projects.....Corner Cabinet redo

And Lily's project....tool box redo

I Spring.....Everything OLD is NEW again!
